My Friend Teagan

I recently wrote my first blog post in ages. I didn’t post it on social media or anything like that, so imagine my surprise when I got a comment from my great doggie friend, Teagan! She's a beautiful spaniel from the UK that I met years ago on Twitter.

I wanted to reply to her comment, but Google wouldn’t cooperate. (This is a Google blog...) So I decided to write a whole post about it. I also looked up Teagan's blog, and it has moved! She has already filled up like TWO whole blogs because she includes so many fine pictures and sometimes even videos with her posts. You should totally check out the latest one! It's called Teagan Times Too.

Teagan, if you're watching, thanks for reading my blog and posting a comment! I've been missing you too, so I might try coming back to Twitter just a little bit, even though I don’t have time to spend as much time there as I used to. It would be really nice to see more of my friends again.

For a while, it made me to sad to be on Twitter, especially after Jed crossed over the rainbow bridge. In fact, it seems like every time I go on Twitter another friend has passed over. But I'd still like to visit with the ones who are here while I can.

So you'll probably see me around every so often, when you aren’t out exploring cool places—which it looks like you do a LOT! In the meantime, I hope you have a fine summer and a great doggie day.

Okaybye! 💫

P.S. If anyone else wants to follow me on Twitter, you can find me @WilsonBear, and my backup account (which I almost never use) is @WilsieB

Have You Been Missing Me?

I thought so.

It's been a really long time since I wrote a blog post.

Some great stuff has happened, like I love living in Asheville, and I got to go on a cruise!

Some sad stuff has happened, too. The hardest thing was losing my friend, Jed. I still miss him every day. I feel lucky that he was my good friend.

Mom has started writing more, so I thought maybe I would, too.

So... what's up?

Are you doing any fun stuff this summer?

Do you need any advice? I love giving advice!

And twirling. I like twirling, but you have to be careful not to twirl too much.

Safety first!

You can write comments here on my blog, or you can visit me on my Wilson Bear Facebook Page! Sometimes I post fun photos and videos there, like this picture of the cutest sea slug ever:

Aren’t you glad you decided to read my blog today? I bet you never saw a sea slug that looks like a cartoon sheep in a fancy green porcupine suit before!

Thanks for stopping in.

(I kinda missed you, too.)

I hope you'll come back soon.

Okaybye!!!!! 💫

I'm Back!

I've been missing everybody, but a bunch of stuff has happened with my family since the last time I posted on my blog, so I had to take kind of a long break from it. It seems like things are finally starting to settle down again, though, so I'm ready to blog!

So far, I'm liking 2014 WAY better than 2013, but one really good thing happened last year (kinda toward the end): WE GOT A NEW CONDO IN ASHEVILLE, NORTH CAROLINA!

I'm completely jazzed about it!  We've been visiting western North Carolina for years, and I've always wanted a place there. The mountains are very bear-friendly. Plus, between our house in Atlanta and our little condominium in Asheville, we've had quite a bit of snow this winter, and I LOVE SNOW!!!!

I took the picture above yesterday from our screened porch, although most of the snow had melted by then. We got almost a foot in Asheville! (In Atlanta, we got a bunch of ice, which wasn't as fun.)

At first we didn't have any furniture in our new place, but gradually we have been adding some. I got to pick the color of our new sofa, so of course I chose purple! It's a great place for me and my brother bears to sit and watch for snow when it's too cold to sit outside.

You might also notice in the picture that I got a lava lamp for Christmas last year: Best. Present. Ever. When I'm not sitting on the porch or looking out the window, I like to watch my lamp. The blobs it makes are totally cool.

How is your 2014? Are you doing anything fun? I hope you will tell me about it in the comments below!

Summertime!

Hi, everybody!

I was just wondering if you have any fun plans for the summer?  Do you have favorite things to do this time of year?

Mom and I just took a nice little trip up to the mountains, but we are saving our main family vacation for the fall this year. How about you? Are you going on a summer trip? I'd love to hear all about it!

A Question for You

Hi everybody!  I've been quite a busy bear recently. We did lots of traveling in November, and then there were all the holiday preparations in December.

We had TWO Christmas trees this year--an artificial one in the window (so you could see the lights from the street) and my favorite one, which was a Frasier fur tree that we decorated in the family room on Christmas Eve!  My brother, Hope (pronounced "hoppy"), and I stayed up together one night just to watch it.

I've told mom I wanna blog more this year, though. And because the New Year just started, I've been kinda reviewing 2011 and was wondering...

What's the best thing that happened to you in 2011?

(If it's hard to decide on the very best, you can just pick a really good thing to share.)

One of my best things in 2011 was getting to go on a really fun trip with mom, dad, and my brother, Pete. It was my first time ever riding on a real train!

We took Amtrak from Atlanta, Georgia to New Orleans, Louisiana.  Then we took a cruise ship to the Caribbean!  It was very fun and exciting. Pete doesn't get to travel with us much because he's the largest bear in the family, so it was especially nice to be able to have him on the trip. I hope we get to take some fine trips this year, too!

I hope you will share something excellent that happened to you last year--and maybe also some fun ideas you have for 2012!

In the Nick of Time

My mom tends to monopolize my time a lot, plus she hogs the computer, so I haven't gotten into a regular blogging schedule like I had hoped to, but I just found out from one of my very favorite bears that his AWESOME blog was DELETED(!) recently, because he hadn't posted in over 90 days, so that made me little nervous, and I thought I better at least check in.

So, how is everybody?

The seasons are changing here from an unusually hot summer to a much nicer fall!  I'm happy about the temperatures, but I don't think the leaves will be as pretty as usual because it has been so dry. The leaves that are already starting to turn seem to be going directly from green to brown without any beautiful reds or yellows in between.

How about where you live? What season are you in? Is the weather nice? I like hearing about other places, so maybe you could tell me about where you live in the comments?  Thanks!

Fabulous Friends

As some of you know, 2010 wasn't a great year at our house. Our humans were dealing with a lot of hard things, and I didn't get to spend as much time online as I like to. This year has been much better, and I've been back on Facebook more, but only in the past few days have I spent much time on Twitter again.

Some of my Twitter friends are also Facebook friends, so I almost forgot how many aren't. Then, last night, a bunch of my friends that I haven't seen in forever were on Twitter all at the same time, and it was SOOOOO awesome! I could hardly keep up with all the great conversations. There were pictures and videos to look at, and friends had been on trips and done all sorts of cool things since the last time I talked to them! Of course, there was some hard stuff, too. I learned about friends who are struggling or who have passed over the rainbow bridge in the last year. But even in the hard times--especially in the hard times--what an encouragement to have supportive friends (furry or otherwise).

Friends are SO important. It's sad that sometimes when we need them the very most is when it's hardest to find time to be with them. When I joined Twitter, I never dreamed that I would meet so many wonderful anipals! I counted up one time, and I have Twitter friends in something like a dozen different countries--maybe more. That's AMAZING!!!

A lot of people make fun of social media, and I know it has problems, but it also has incredible benefits, and the best one of all is the friends. Even if you are stuck inside or live in a remote place, you can make friends on Twitter and Facebook and share stuff that is important to you. Sure, it takes time, and you have to be careful about that. Yes, people sometimes do dumb things on these sites, and there are some very real privacy concerns--particularly on Facebook and with Twitpics--that you should pay attention to. But I'm really grateful for Twitter and Facebook and especially for my friends and the chance to spend time with them.

If you have friends you haven't talked to in a while, maybe today would be a good day to reach out to them?
